Should I try a Specialty Diet for Weight Loss?

What is a specialty diet?

Some people have ailments that require them to abstain from certain foods, such as people with lactose intolerance and those who are allergic to milk. They would need to eliminate dairy and milk protein from their diet completely to avoid adverse reactions and unwelcomed symptoms.

Another example of this is Celiac disease.  When people with celiac disease eat gluten (a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley), their body retaliates with an immune response that attacks the small intestine. These attacks lead to damage of the villi, small fingerlike projections that line the small intestine. When the small intestine is damaged, nutrients cannot be absorbed properly into the body. I could list several other situations where foods must be eliminated from the diet, but I will save that for a later post. You can even test your sensitivity to 96 different foods, all from home. I just wanted to illustrate that these modified diets are a necessity for some of us.  Those that do not have medical ailments (that we know of), could benefit from one of the many types of specialty diets available today.  This type of diet forces you to be more aware of what you are putting into your body.  You will master the art of food label reading, and researching your favorite packaged foods on the web.  This can be a labor-intensive journey to a healthier, skinnier you.  Not a fan of labor? Well, neither am I! I do respect the old adage “no pain no gain” but I live by my personal mantra, ” work smarter not harder!  I’m just saying, if I can get some help, I’m going to take it.

That is where these great services fit in; all of the meals served are appropriate for use as part of a weight loss plan, eating healthy or even just for the convenience. Wholesome ingredients prepared in small batches make for delicious meals to suit any need like Vegetarian, Dairy Free, Gluten-free, Diabetic and much more.
